|
||||||||||||||||
The portable intercom Aerocom III from the US company PS Engineering (PSE) is a cockpit communications device at the highest level. It is an intercom for 2 stations/headsets, which can be expanded with an extra module to 4 seats. Many problems typical for cheaper intercoms will never occur with the Aerocom III due to excellent electronics, e.g. matching problems when mixing headsets from different manufacturers. |

Automatic Intellivox™-Squelch-Adjustment: Standard intercoms require the pilot to adjust the squelch setting with a knob according to the background noise level, so that the microphones will not be open when no one is speaking. Also, often all connected microphones are opened when only one person is speaking, adding to background noise feed into the intercom system. All this will not happen with the Aerocom III: Its electronics analyze the noise level at each microphone constantly and adjusts the squelch level automatically. Only the microphone which is spoken into is opened - fully automatic, without any fiddling with knobs, without cutting out the beginning of sentences. |
