The handheld GPS by Bendix/King, the AV8OR (“Aviator”), combines aviation and automotive navigation at a very reasonable price. All relevant details are shown on its touchscreen LCD with a resolution of 480 x 272 pixels and a 4,3’’/10.9 cm diagonal. A smart profile view lets you plan ahead with a vertical profile and view of terrain, airspace and obstacles on your heading. The AV8OR can be easily connected to a PC for quick database updates via the Internet. Enroute guidance for you way to the airport can be heard via an integrated loudspeaker.
