History
|
What makes the Alpha Industries jackets so special is that they are cut in exactly the same way as the originals developed exclusively for the US military. In 1959, Alpha Industries developed the legendary MA-1 pilot jacket under contract of the US Air Force (USAF), which equipped its marine and helicopter pilots with the jacket. The MA-1 was developed specifically for the then-new fighter jets - it was made of lightweight, robust nylon with a polyester lining.

In 1960 the MA-1 got the trademark dayglo orange inside lining for easier visibility during rescue. We offer you the MA-1 on request in nylon or leather.
In 1977 Alpha Industries developed another jacket for the USAF: the CWU-45/P. More than one million CWU-45/P were delivered, made from fireproof nomex. We offer you the leather variant made by Alpha Industries. Another jacket made by Alpha Industries which has become a part of military history is the M- field parka, developed in 1965. Today, the ECWCS ("Extended Cold Weather Clothing System") used by the military and many law enforcement authorities and made from Goretex as well as the Alaska jacket N-3B are manufactured by Alpha Industries.
