The perfect portable intercom
|
The portable intercom Aerocom III from the US company PS Engineering (PSE) is a cockpit communications device at the highest level. It is an intercom for 2 stations/headsets, which can be expanded with an extra module to 4 seats. Many problems typical for cheaper intercoms will never occur with the Aerocom III due to excellent electronics, e.g. matching problems when mixing headsets from different manufacturers.

Automatic Intellivox™-Squelch-Adjustment: Standard intercoms require the pilot to adjust the squelch setting with a knob according to the background noise level, so that the microphones will not be open when no one is speaking. Also, often all connected microphones are opened when only one person is speaking, adding to background noise feed into the intercom system. All this will not happen with the Aerocom III: Its electronics analyze the noise level at each microphone constantly and adjusts the squelch level automatically. Only the microphone which is spoken into is opened - fully automatic, without any fiddling with knobs, without cutting out the beginning of sentences.
Stereo circuitry: You can feed stereo music into the intercom from a CD- or MP3-Player, which you can then enjoy via your stereo headsets. Mono headsets are automatically sensed and supplied with a mono signal. Music will be muted when there is radio traffic or intercom activity.
Expansion module: The EX has two more headset stations, a separate volume control and a second music input for the backseat passenger - perfect for kids in the back.
Microphone amplifier: Each microphone connector in the Aerocom III has its own amplifier circuit, guaranteeing perfect communication even when using different headset types with different microphones.
ISO/ALL selector: In the ALL position, everybody can hear the radios, music and all connected headsets. With ISO, only the pilot hears the radios; all the passengers can continue talking without disturbing the pilot.
PTT switch: You can use installed transmit buttons as well as portable PTT buttons.
Power supply: Either via 9-Volt battery or the included cigarette lighter adaptor.
