Tips for installation

Detailled instruction for permanently installing the ATD-300, including the necessary measurements, can be found in the manual of the unit. It is your responsibility to observe the regulations of the country that certifies your aircraft. Your avionics shop can help you. Further information can also be found in the FAQ section.

Here are some tips for installing the unit. A click on the pictures shows a larger version. Please follow all pertinent regulations.

When mounting the ATD-300, we recommend a connection to the audio panel. The unit should be connected to an "unswitched" audio panel input. For the Bendix/King KMA-24, this would be pin T.

The ATD-300 requires a separate transponder-type antenna. The ideal place for it is on the lower belly as far to the front as possible, preferably in front of the nose wheel. In any case, the antenna has to be at least 60 cm away from transponder or DME antennas.
